Established in 2015, Boy Smells began as an experiment in candle-making in the Los Angeles kitchen of co-founders and partners Matthew Herman and David Kien. From routines to rituals, Boy Smells renews the personal care routine by creating rituals from an otherwise mundane experience.

Currently, Boy Smells is carried in over 300 retail locations worldwide, with 16 original scents, votive sets and underwear styles. As Black Friday approached, Boy Smells came to Propeller looking for ways in which to improve sales growth during one of the most lucrative sales events of the year.

Our approach

As Black Friday approached, we focused on optimising Boy Smell’s conversion rate. This lead to a 31% growth in returning customers,  boosting revenue and average order value at the same time.

We achieved this by utilising our partnership with Gorgias. Offering an extensive toolset that is dedicated to boosting the customer experience, integrating Gorgias into the Boy Smells CMS meant they could manage customer experience with confidence.
